I never thought racing a Corvette would change my life. But at 48 years old, I strapped into the driver’s seat for the first time, not knowing that this moment would shift everything—my mindset, my relationships, and my understanding of what was truly possible.

It wasn’t just about speed. It was about stepping into a world I never thought was meant for me. Racing unlocked something deep inside—a fierce competitor, a woman unafraid to push limits, an individual who still had more to prove, not to the world, but to herself. But with that newfound power came challenges. My inner critic became louder than ever, judging every move, every decision, every result. I became aware of how I judged others too, especially in a sport where so much was beyond my control. Yet, through every lap, every failure, and every triumph, I grew.

They reached out to me, voices filled with longing, saying, “I wish I had the courage.” “I could never do that.” “If only…” But what they didn’t realize—what I had to learn for myself—was that they still had that fire inside them. They had just forgotten.

Society had fed us the lie that once we hit a certain age, we had to slow down. That we had to trade adventure for routine, risk for safety, dreams for responsibilities. But I refused to accept that. I flipped the script and screamed from the top of my lungs:

 

We still have skin in the game.
